Gutter & fascia replacement in St Albans & Melbourne's west

Rusted, sagging or overflowing gutters replaced, with new fascia and downpipes where they're needed, on their own or as part of a new roof.

What's involved

Gutters that actually carry the water away.

A gutter has one job. When it rusts, sags or can't keep up, the water goes into the eaves, the walls or the roof instead.

Old gutters mostly fail the same ways: rust along the bottom and at the joins, brackets that let them sag so water sits instead of running, and outlets too small or too few for the roof they're draining. The fascia behind them can rot or rust once water has been getting behind the gutter for a while.

Replacing them is a chance to fix the cause, not just the metal: the right fall to each outlet, enough outlets for the roof area, and a gutter profile that suits the house. We match colours to your roof, or to the new roof if one is going on.

Gutters can be replaced on their own, but if your roof is due too, doing both together saves setting up access twice.

  • Old gutters removed and taken away
  • Fascia repaired or replaced, timber or metal
  • New gutters set to fall to the outlets
  • Downpipes replaced to match
  • Colours matched to your roof

Before we quote

Gutters, fascia & downpipes: what we look for.

What tells us this is the right job for your roof, and what we check before we price it.

Signs your gutters are done

  • Rust holes along the bottom or at the joins
  • Sagging runs where water sits
  • Overflowing in heavy rain, even when clean
  • Water stains on the fascia, eaves or walls

What we look at

  • Fall along each run to the outlets
  • Number and size of outlets for the roof area
  • The fascia the gutters fix to
  • How the roof sheets finish into the gutter

How the job runs

From first look to final clean-up.

  1. Step 1: Look & free quote

We check the gutters, the fascia behind them and how the roof drains into them.

  2. Step 2: Strip & check the fascia

Old gutters come off, and any rotten or rusted fascia is repaired or replaced.

  3. Step 3: New gutters & downpipes

Gutters fixed to fall to each outlet, with downpipes to match.

  4. Step 4: Water test & clean-up

We run water through to check it flows to the outlets, then clear the site.

Anything not covered here, call 0403 652 357 and ask.

Should I replace my gutters when I replace my roof?

Usually, if they're getting near the end of their life anyway. Access is already set up, the colours match the new roof, and the new sheets finish properly into new gutters. If they're in good shape, we'll say so and leave them.

Why do my gutters overflow even when they are clean?

Usually because they can't drain fast enough: not enough fall to the outlets, too few outlets for the roof area, or outlets that are too small. Fixing that means changing the gutter layout, not just clearing it, and it's part of what we look at when we quote.

Do you replace rotten fascia boards?

Yes. If the fascia behind the gutter has rotted or rusted, it is repaired or replaced before the new gutters go on, because new gutters need something solid to fix to.

Can you match my gutters to a Colorbond roof?

Yes. Gutters, fascia and downpipes come in Colorbond colours, so they can match the roof or be picked as a contrast.
